CAD software is used to increase the productivity of the designer, improve the quality of design, improve communications through documentation, and to create a database for manufacturing. CAD output is often in the form of electronic files for print, machining, or other manufacturing operations” [Wikipedia]. The technique was created in the 1960s by originated in the 1960s by Paul Hanratty to make the drawing and processing of designs less timely and complicated [1]. The program is used by a broad variation of engineering industries, from architects and mechanical engineers to electrical engineers. When it was created it was focused on all the industries that used engineering drawings, but later broadened to PCB drawings and design. [2] {{:fCAD.png|}}
